The 1920's Martin Handcraft and Buescher True Tone models were pro horns in their day, but have outdated keywork vs. Having said that, I would concentrate on the Martin Committee I, II and III as well as the Magna models, and the Buescher Aristocrat, Big B and Top Hat and Cane models (pre 1959). ![]() All are extremely well built, including the lesser priced Indiana. The Martin Indiana is their intermediate model (with The Elkhart by Buescher being that maker's budget horn), however Martin never made a shoddy horn. Both makers produced professional as well as more budget priced models. It depends on the model and specific examples you are contemplating.
